Sibelius 8 playback not working for mac#

After selecting 'new', Sibelius asks you to name the new Playback Device. You can have as many of these playback devices as you want so dont worry about making too many new playback device settings. Just so you know, I upgraded to Windows 10 last week as well as Sibelius 8, although I do still have 7.5 installed & have tried that as well. A playback device is a setting that tells Sibelius exactly what sounds you want it to use. I hope someone can get me straight, I have been working this problem for 3 days. When I bring up an instance of EWQL in Reaper, say, Piano, and hit the virtual piano keys, I get sound! But none on playback from the Sibelius score. I have also tried Aria & Plogue engines with same result. This was supposed to have been fixed, but if after all of the above you are still having problems, I recommend you contact Avid Tech Support.

I decided to simplify things by creating a simple piano score in Sibelius & using that to troubleshoot this problem. There was a documented issue with Sibelius 7.1.x for Mac only where playback would hit the wall at 28 staves w/ many different articulations per instrument, each one using up a channel. I have tried & retried various routing possibilities. I have triple checked all of Reaper's settings in preferences (including making certain that the internal midi ports are enabled).

I get the rewire logo on the Sibelius transport panel & on playback, there is activity on the Sibelius mixer VU meters, but no sound from Reaper, not even any activity on Reaper's VU meters. I am using Reaper as master to Sibelius slave. To begin, here are some of my basic specs: Windows 10,i5 processor,16GB ram,SSD,Reaper 5,Sibelius 8,LoopBe30.ДЄs a note, I have used Rewire in the past, so I'm not a newbie.

I am in the middle of a project my publisher is expecting. I don't know if this is a bug, but I am at a complete loss as to this problem.
